MAURA BEAR
[BENÍTEZ ARELLANO]
I’m a graphic designer and illustrator with a background in industrial design. After changing paths, my practice grew through experimentation, constant learning, and the people I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with.
I enjoy learning, blending techniques, and turning stories into visual systems. My work often reflects my love for food, music, and art—and I’m especially drawn to projects in those areas. You can take a closer look into my process here.

MY FAV PART
Working on a complex editorial project
FAO Investment Centre — 60 Years Young is a publication created to celebrate the organization’s six decades of work supporting sustainable agrifood systems around the world. Developed in close collaboration with the creative director, the project focused on building a clear, cohesive editorial system that could support a large volume of content without feeling overwhelming, using strong imagery to keep the reading experience engaging.
Each decade is defined by a distinct color, with intentional graphic elements and hierarchy guiding the reader through time and helping make complex data easier to read. A series of generative patterns, created with a custom p5.js tool, adds texture and rhythm across the layouts, sitting over the imagery as a unifying layer throughout the book and reinforcing its celebratory tone.
